Life After Divorce

"One day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful." -Sigmund Freud

Recently I have had the amazing opportunity to team up with James on a journey to document life after divorce. He has created a video series to share divorce stories and to bring hope to those going through similar situations. I could not be more grateful (also nervous) to share more of my story and to hopefully show someone that there is happiness after divorce and that there is a bright light at the end of all the tears and pain.

I haven't talked a lot about my story. It has totally and completely scared me in the past. Not because I am ashamed or embarrassed or worried about what others might think. But because of the person whom I divorced. I realized through talking with James and considering being a part of this project, that no matter how far I have come (if you're wondering is really really far) that I was still giving him power. I was still giving him the control that he never deserved to have in the first place. So I am telling my story. I'm telling it because I am so proud of who I am, I am so happy with where I am, I am so very happy with who I am married to now. I want other people out there who might be going through divorce now, or who might in the future, to watch this video and to know and see that you will be happy again.  If you are staying in an unsafe, unhealthy situation. If you are dealing with someone with far too many demons than you can possibly help them with. You can be strong. You can get out. You will know happiness and feel light again. You will not carry this burden with you forever. You will be ok.

So go watch the video! Whether you have been there, are there, or even know someone who might need the extra strength and help. Watch the full video HERE. Learn more about divorce. It is out there, it is all around us. It doesn't need to be a mistake to hide, or a taboo topic.

Most importantly, I love you and if you have any questions or need help, you can come to me..anytime.

xoxo
