All Hallows Eve Link Up Party!

It's Halloween! ooooooo! So excited for this link up!! I hadn't realized how much of a Halloween downer I have been the last few years, until miss Gentri Lee asked me to help host this link up. Womp Womp Womp. What is wrong with me?! I swear I tried this year but costume...and nothing to prove my efforts. I have had some real good ones in the past I promise {peacock, PAPER in the trio rock paper scissors, a loofa, ballerina...}I was going to be a deer this year and was so excited about it but the Hunter who was to accompany my costume stopped hunting...and I'm going to a haunted opera instead. Which I can't complain about. Next year you guys. Next year my Halloween season will be EPIC

For this year I decided to share a ghost story from my home town in Alberta, Canada!
Many a performance I have done in this theatre so umm creeeeepy! But here it is....

Theatres are often accompanied by tales of hauntings. They are an enchanted place where things aren't always what they seem and there have been many accounts of hauntings at the Genevieve E. Yates Memorial Centre. Some people have sensed a presence in rooms with them, others have heard sounds of rehearsals when none were actually taking place, and many have seen a shadowy figure appear and disappear.

"The Yates has some awesome stories," says Belinda. "Pebble beach often shows up in a lot of the ghost stories." Pebble Beach is the name given to a gravel-floored storage area in the theatre. Belinda tells the story of how two young girls have been seen coming out of Pebble Beach. "Two girls went from there and crossed to the ladies bathroom," Belinda explains. "It was after hours, and no children should've been there. The person [witnessing this] followed them into the ladies washroom and it was completely empty; the kids had just disappeared."

According to Belinda, the bathroom seems to be a hot spot for ghostly occurrences, often hearing variations of similar stories. The dressing rooms and green room also tend to show up in Yates Theatre ghost stories; from people smelling mysterious colognes to witnessing apparitions. Some people have even witnessed activity from outside the building. "People driving past the theatre looking through the glass would actually see people in the theatre long after the theatre had been closed for the night," Belinda explains. "Some have even been so certain they've seen people, they've called the police and reported someone has broken in. When the police have checked the building, of course, it's always been empty."

Happy Halloween everyone. Go eat some candy for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Oh! And don't forget to grab a button and link on up!

Lately I've been feeling leggings.

How else does one mend a broken heart but to just straight not put real pants on? If you know a different way, I am open to suggestions, but this has been working wonders.

It's all fine and dandy until you realize you haven't put on a pair of "real" pants in over a week. One day I tried and then thought to myself..."Well this is rather uncomfortable so what the heck am I doing!". And that ended that rather quickly.

You know it's probably time to put some "real" pants on when one of your friends mentions.."Hey! you don't have leggings on!"... Because you had to put every pair you own in to the you upgraded(ha!) to jeggings.

What a ridiculous girl I am being. But you know what? Hearts take time to mend. To heal. To feel ok again. So you do what you have to do! Which is...all the typical mend my broken heart things of course...Far too much chocolate. For breakfast might I add. A little retail therapy which is of course completely necessary. Got my hair did...fresh start you know? And straight up leggings for over almost two entire weeks.

I have however been avoiding chick flicks and sappy love songs. Those my friends are just a recipe for disaster.

Yup. I'd say my heart is just about all healed up. So who wants to set me up on a date? Kidding. But seriously...I promise not to wear leggings.

Here's to looking up

"It is better to look up!"

It's been a tough week you guys. One of those weeks that tests you in all possible ways. Tests your ability to choose. Makes you question all of your choices. Made me question if moving here was the right move for me. This kind of confusion usually sends me in to my gypsy ways...Gets me thinking alright well where to next folks! But...

The best advice I have gotten all week (among a TON of amazing advice) was this... "Sometimes things happen for a reason and sometimes things happen because that other person is an idiot. Either way it happens and you push through it because well...You are a better person than them and a better person because of it. Just count your blessings now because obviously...*so and so* is cray cray. You are tough. If there is anything anyone knows about you its that you are tough. So just keep going. Don't let an idiot make you an idiot."

So here's to the idiots that make us stronger, who challenge us in every way, who make us realize we can do hard things.

...I'm sticking it out folks! So here's to sticking it out with me!...I ain't mad about it!

The first week of October has already come and gone. I can't believe it. It's only been two short months since I moved...yet at the same time it seems like it has been SO much longer. I have been counting down the days until I get to see my sweet sweet family and the count down started at THIRTY-FIVE. Now the count down is ONE. I text my sister to tell her "thirty five days until I come home to visit." Which the reply was.."that's too far away!" And then I realized oh crap she's right. Then I thought the day would never come! But one more day until I see those familiar beautiful faces. If you all are wondering what the occasion is for going's Canadian Thanksgiving...and I am sure thankful that I get to be home spending it with the ones that I love.

Along with being excited for this weekend I am also excited for the change in weather, which always brings about a change of scenery in a way. The trees are changing and that crisp cool fall smell is in the air. Which brings me to this seasons....

Ain't nothin stronger than the heart...

"... she didn't know til' she hit the road, deep in her soul, she's got the fire and the fight of a gypsy."

I've hit the pavement so to speak so many times whilst trying to find myself over the last few years. Via airplane or car, and oh has it been good for my soul. Then I heard that song from the quote above and the story is literally mine! I did not know how much fight and fire I had in me until I realized that I had had enough and was done settling and putting up with life. So I took to the road and followed different paths along the way. It's no secret my soul is a gypsy one. For that I am actually grateful. My soul is an adventurous one, a thrill seeking one, a creative one, one that loves to see the beauty that this world has to offer. And I don't plan on slowing down.

I did not find myself until I lost myself....then again...not all who wander are lost.
