Out With The Old

(JESSI's closetsequin top (similar)//booties//lipstick

Now that I've spent an entire day on the beach… these pictures look horrendously cold. But I do already miss home. Its hard when your heart is pulled in two different directions. Who can complain though when you spent a day in the sun, watched the sunset, ate dinner on rooftop, rode a ferris wheel…and all with some pretty handsome and good company. Not this girl. No complaints here. Except that my luggage didn't quite make the trip…Good thing I thought ahead and packed this amazing top in to my carry on. So I can still be a disco ball for New Years. Perfect.

Anyways, it's almost twenty-fourteen. Which is insane since the other day I almost signed something with the date of twenty-twelve. So who knows where my brain is at.
But, as they say in yoga…. out with the old, in with the new.

Namaste.

Cali Bound

Leopard flats - check
Liquid leggings - check
Pink lipstick - check
No rest for the rad tee - check
Hat to hide travellers hair - check
….oh and luggage - check

This early A.M. I am off to ring in twenty-fourteen in sunny Cali with someone handsome. I'd say this will be a great start to a great new year. Toes in the sand, breathing in the sweet salty air, sounds of the ocean, skin not feeling like a dried up lizard. What more could a girl ask for? Oh a smokin' New Years kiss. Got that covered as well.

Catch you all on the flip side. I'm about to get my tan on and my party on.

The Day After

So who is completely exhausted from all the present opening, laughing, crying, talking, game playing, eating…oh the food that has gone on in this home is ridiculous. It's been amazing and beautiful and exhausting. It all goes by so fast. Too fast. And now the count down to next Christmas begins. Oh wait… you don't count right from the day after? Well I do. Maybe thats whats exhausting. But I love this season. Oh I love it.

Even though Christmas Day is over, the holidays, my friends, are not! Not that you need a good reason to dress up…but if you did, this is the perfect dress! I am so in love with it. You might want be tempted to add a sweater over top in this chilly weather BUT how could you once you see those shoulder details. Scrumptious.

This winter season is a fun one. I don't think I ever admit to it. Yet, it is. I'm having a blast. Only a few more days to soak it all in in this place I call home, with the people I adore most. So I'm off to win some more games and eat some more food…all in my stretchy pants…because I can't wear a dress all the time! Dang.

Merry Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Day from good ol' Canada!
That picture right there is a perfect example of a "prairie Christmas".  Snow on the ground but chinook wind a blowing so the snow doesn't stick around.
I often forget how beautiful this country is, until I am gone for a while and come back. It is beautiful. Or maybe its just the Christmas season and I'm feeling all sentimental. Either way I am SO grateful to be home for the holidays.

The last few years have been amazing with my family. I have grown so close to them and have learned to appreciate the time I have to spend with them. The Christmas season for me is all about family and remembering the reason to celebrate. My saviour and my family and all the ones I love and cherish. All the most important things in life.

So Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays. Feliz Navidad. However you say it. However you celebrate it. However you feel it. I'm wishing it to you and yours. From chilly windy Canada. I'm thinking of you!

Oh Deer Its Almost Here

One more sleep and I will be home in Canada squeezing and kissing the cheeks of my loves. The face cheeks of course. Well maybe I'll throw a good butt cheek squeeze in there somewhere. Who knows. It's Christmas, anything can happen.

Four sleeps until I get to see my main man, main squeeze, baby G.

Five sleeps until Christmas Day. Where we will eat scrumptious breakfast foods, watch a little boy open presents. Ok and open a few of our own. Then spend the rest of the day in our pj's drunk off love and sugary treats.

This Christmas season has been a great one! Snow, lights, hot cocoa, fire places, snuggles. All good things. But it will REALLY feel like Christmas once I'm home home home.

So Merry Almost Christmas all! I adore you.

Scenes from a weekend

Mondays are such a kick to the teeth. Especially after a weekend spent with people who make you laugh until you cry and make you feel like the most important person to exist. I just love my family and am so darn grateful they spent 24 hours in a car just to come see me and see my most lovely Utah life. It would be an understatement to say I truly needed their hugs and loves. We shopped till we dropped, enjoyed out fair share of performances, ate until we had food babies, and laughed until we had six packs. I adore them.

Five weeks and counting until we meet again.

I've got the eye of the tiger...erm..cheetah

Today and every day I will choose joy.

Uh. Forgive me for being super cheese ball here. It was originally a joke. Then I liked it. So here we are.

Anyhow. I haven't really done a post I'm a miserable broken hearted dumb girl post so here it is!

CIAO to the bad times...oh hey there, how you doin to the good times.
Life is good. Almost surprisingly good. If that even makes sense. I have been so blessed the last month. Blessed with amazing friends and all around people in my life. Blessed with opportunities that wouldn't have come my way. Ultimately I've been blessed to be put back on the path I was supposed to be on moving here. So grateful. So incredibly and surprisingly grateful. Not entirely sure why I'm surprised. I know the Lord provides a way, always. He knows what's up. He knows it'll be fine....even better than fine. He's sitting there saying....hey you...come get your blessings will ya? Just follow these mountains...trudge thru the muck...come and get them! They are waiting for you....if only you will find your way thru the jungle...thru the tears. I am waiting.

Well here I am.  I've got the eye of the tiger, the fighter, dancin' thru the fire... I am a champion and you're gonna hear me roar.

My Main Squeeze

If you know me at all you know who the light of my life is, my main man, my main squeeze. He's the sweetest, nicest, funniest boy you'll ever lay eyes on. He also loves me back so unconditionally...it was pretty much meant to be. Oh my he is scrumptious! We call him baby G or bubba and oh how we all adore him.

We found out around his first birthday that G has severe to profound hearing loss. I think we were all shocked and confused but realized how much it made sense. This boy could sleep through ANYTHING...was never bothered by loud noises or frightened. It all started to come together. So...this sweet spirit became even more sweet and special and even more of a blessing.

He has recently had the blessing of cochlear implant surgery and we all couldn't be more excited for his new journey.

My very best friend, sister, and amazing mother to this sweet boy, has since started a blog to tell their journey through this as a family. She also wants to be able to reach out to those who are maybe going through the same journey and challenges, and also people who might face this in the future.

To read their story you can visit her blog HERE. You'll be able to see why I love these two so very much!

All Hallows Eve Link Up Party!

It's Halloween! ooooooo! So excited for this link up!! I hadn't realized how much of a Halloween downer I have been the last few years, until miss Gentri Lee asked me to help host this link up. Womp Womp Womp. What is wrong with me?! I swear I tried this year but alas..no costume...and nothing to prove my efforts. I have had some real good ones in the past I promise {peacock, PAPER in the trio rock paper scissors, a loofa, ballerina...}I was going to be a deer this year and was so excited about it but the Hunter who was to accompany my costume stopped hunting...and well...now I'm going to a haunted opera instead. Which I can't complain about. Next year you guys. Next year my Halloween season will be EPIC

For this year I decided to share a ghost story from my home town in Alberta, Canada!
Many a performance I have done in this theatre so umm creeeeepy! But here it is....

Theatres are often accompanied by tales of hauntings. They are an enchanted place where things aren't always what they seem and there have been many accounts of hauntings at the Genevieve E. Yates Memorial Centre. Some people have sensed a presence in rooms with them, others have heard sounds of rehearsals when none were actually taking place, and many have seen a shadowy figure appear and disappear.

"The Yates has some awesome stories," says Belinda. "Pebble beach often shows up in a lot of the ghost stories." Pebble Beach is the name given to a gravel-floored storage area in the theatre. Belinda tells the story of how two young girls have been seen coming out of Pebble Beach. "Two girls went from there and crossed to the ladies bathroom," Belinda explains. "It was after hours, and no children should've been there. The person [witnessing this] followed them into the ladies washroom and it was completely empty; the kids had just disappeared."

According to Belinda, the bathroom seems to be a hot spot for ghostly occurrences, often hearing variations of similar stories. The dressing rooms and green room also tend to show up in Yates Theatre ghost stories; from people smelling mysterious colognes to witnessing apparitions. Some people have even witnessed activity from outside the building. "People driving past the theatre looking through the glass would actually see people in the theatre long after the theatre had been closed for the night," Belinda explains. "Some have even been so certain they've seen people, they've called the police and reported someone has broken in. When the police have checked the building, of course, it's always been empty."

Happy Halloween everyone. Go eat some candy for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Oh! And don't forget to grab a button and link on up!
