7 Questions!

1. Hamburger or Hotdog? (veggie versions count)
does turkey burger count?

2. If you had to live on any other planet in our solar system, besides Earth, which would you choose?
Saturn? I'd like to take a ride around those rings!

3. Share a photo of an outfit that represents your person style, please. ( isn't she polite?!)
Mostly, I just seriously need those burnt orange pants for fall. Really though...point me in the direction of those babies..please?!

4.Would you rather get ready for the day or get ready for bed?
Honestly, it depends on the day. If I'm getting ready for work...then I'd prefer to get ready for bed. If I'm getting ready to go out...then definitely getting ready for the day! But...then again... who doesn't love the feeling of a fresh washed face, teeth brushed, and a cozy bed....well geez...who thought this would be the tough question!!...Gentri.. I just re read your answer lol...

5. You have to choose between never having eyelashes or never having eyebrows, which would you choose?
Definitely never having eyebrows. Yah it looks creepy, but you can always draw those things on no? Or have some cute bangs! I LOVE my eyelashes!...then again those can be false too..well geez. Actually...I'd just rather keep them both..k thanks!

6. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Do I haaaave to grow up?...in that case... an owner of a bakery, and a momma, and a blogger.

7. Do you set your clocks right on time, or a few minutes ahead or behind?
I HAVE to have my clocks right on time. I can't handle not knowing exactly what time it is. It makes me anxious. I can't figure out how to change the clock in my car, so it is always ahead, or when its day light savings...its an hour and ten minutes off. Drives me BANANAS!

Happy Hump Day Lovelies! One day closer to the weekend. Whoop!

My Shampoo of Choice

Have you ever tried any LUSH products? If not...you must!
Every time I see one of the LUSH stores, I think I literally spend hours in there. I like to smell everything & of course try anything they will let you test out for free.
LUSH uses natural ingredients to make their products such as; fruits and vegetables, essential oils, honey and beeswax and synthetic ingredients, which makes it more gentle on your skin and hair! Which means better results! Who doesn't want that?
Umm hello these products are scrumptious! {smelling, don't eat them.} All though you will be tempted, and probably could...
Their products are AMaaaaaZING. They have tons of different varieties to choose from. From shampoo&conditioner to bath bombs to face masks to massage lotions and scrubs {hubba hubba!} to these weird teeth brushing strips for camping and travelling, which I won't lie kind of creep me out, but I seriously want to buy some. You know...just to see. And even more!
Anywho, the one product I adore are their shampoo bars. Specifically Jumping Juniper. Not only does it foam like you wouldn't believe, and clean off ANYTHING in its way.. it smells DE-VINE.
Your hair will never have felt so clean, & wonderful. People will be doing that whole ...I'm gonna hug you just so I can take a wiff of your delicious hair. Then you'll ask them if they just smelled you..and they will get all awkward! Whoop! Who doesn't love awkward moments!
Speaking of awkward...this post is getting awkward...so just go buy some LUSH products. I can promise you will not be disappointed. If you are...you are cray cray.

7 Questions!

Today I am answering GENTRI LEE's 7 questions!

1. Bold OR Understated?
hmm I'm going to go with understated... I can be pretty shy and awkward personality wise, and outfit wise I usually keep things simple..maybe add something bold once in a while!

2. You have to survive alone in the wild and you only get to take one thing with you. Your choices are: A pocket knife, a water bottle, or a book. Which do you choose and why?
Umm well I guess I could kill things with a pocket knife and eat it, but let's be real here...I can't even kill bugs. A water bottle is only good if filled with fresh water..and that will only last so long, then it's no bueno and you can't use it to boil more water in, because it will melt.. So I'm going to go with a book...If I'm gonna die out there, then I may as well be doing something I enjoy. So my survival skills are lacking...what of it?

3. Thirty Two Cows, Seven Eight Chickens, How Many Didn't?
Twenty-five. Ok I super cheated. I have no idea what you are talking about girlfriend. But I like it.

4. Would you rather die doing one legendary act of service or do small acts of kindness that may go unnoticed ever day?
I am all about small acts of kindness. Whether they get recognized or not doesn't even matter. I love doing it no matter what! :)

5. Happiness is ________. (one word; fill in the blank)
adventure

6. Can you laugh with out smiling?
yes. but it's awkward.

7. Do you pop your knuckles?
When I'm feeling awkward, nervous, or stressed. So..often.

Tune is next week for 7 more questions!

Oh and happy hump day!

Two Years. Seven Hundred & Thirty Days.

shirt//pants//scarf GAP shoes...who wears shoes?

2 years. 730 days.
That's how long its been since my world turned upside down.
Little did I know, it would for the better. It would be a blessing.
In 700 days I have done so much. Learned so much. Grown so much. I've had good days and I've had bad days. I moved to Hawaii. Got the tan I have always dreamed of. Jumped out of an airplane. Took up running. Fed a homeless man. Learned how to be a better daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. Got wonderfully lost trying to hike to the "Y". Ate a J Dawg. Slept under the stars. Swam in the ocean countless times. Met new lifelong friends. Started TippeeCanoe. Went back to school for art and dance. Danced like no one was watching. Went surfing. Moved. Then moved again. Then maybe again. Drank a coconut. Woke up to a Rooster. Watched the sunrise while eating cereal. Learned to love again. Learned to let go. Learned to forgive. Forgave. Hiked waterfalls and caves. Had fireworks for my birthday. Snorkelled. Cliff jumped. Watched a sunrise on top a volcano. Started practicing yoga. Lived through hot yoga. Made mistakes, because I'm human. Realized it's ok to be human. Stuck up for myself. Rode horses. Shot guns. Tried food I never thought I'd like. Went to a Mindy Gledhill concert. Had a lot of retail therapy sessions. Put 100,000 kilometres on the tin can. Ate the best sandwich to ever be made...twice. Ate my weight in fish tacos. Zumba'd my butt off. Grew my bangs out. Laughed a lot. Cried a lot. Gave up sugar. Took sugar back...and repeated. Learned another language. Learned to play guitar.
I followed my gypsy soul!
2 years. 730 days.
That's how long it took me to do everything you told me I never would. Thanks for the motivation!
After all..." The greatest pleasure in life, is doing what people say you can't do."
Bring on the next 700+ days. I'm ready for them!

Home made deliciousness & 5 random facts!

Ok lets me honest.. who's favourite snack as a kid wasn't granola bars? If you raised your hand...you crazy! I have loved granola bars since day one. So maybe I am still a kid at heart...what of it? I love me a good granola bar. And like I always say! Home made anything is always a million...maybe trillion times better than anything store bought! So without further a du {who knew that was two separate words} here is my homemade chewy s'more granola bars!

CHEWY S'MORE GRANOLA BARS

You will need:

2 cups oats

1 cup rice krispy cereal

3 crushed graham wafer crackers

1/2 cup of mini marshmallows approx. I didn't have mini so I chopped {gooey catastrophe} up large ones. I seriously recommend mini ones!

1/4 cup butter

1/4 cup honey

1/3 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup choco chips. or you know...as much chocolatey goodness you desire

Lined 8X8 pan with parchment paper and a little cooking spray { you can make your own cooking spray out of water and olive oil!...saves money and is a lot healthier!}

How to:

1. Mix oats, cereal, crushed graham wafers, & mini marshmallows in large bowl

2. melt together butter, honey, brown sugar on med-high heat. Once melted turn down heat to med and let cook for about 3-4 minutes. Add vanilla and stir.

3. Pour mixture over dry ingredients and mix well so all is coated.

4. Pour mixture into baking tin and press down into all corners with another piece of parchment paper over top.

5. add chocolate chips and push down again.

6. If you can resist {you can always lick the spoon and bowl while these cool, I recommend it!} let sit until chocolate is set and bars are cooled to room temp!

7. Pack these up for your kids OR just eat them on the floor on a blanket or something...you know camp like! :)

Your kids will love them! And don't be ashamed if you sneak a few...because you will...so I'm giving you permission now!

Enjoy!

Sugar Bowl - yougottaeathere!

Headed to Edmonton AB in the near future? If you aren't, you should!
Here's to my most recent Foot Network adventure! This time I traveled 5 hours! Success.
This place if you hadn't already guessed, is called Sugar Bowl! They are apparently famous for their chicken and waffles (check) & their beer (someone will have to go here and tell me if that is any good!) {wink} & their cinnamon buns (fail, apparently they sell out wicked fast these days!) So just an FYI if you want a cinnamon bun..show up early and wait in line for it! Also, when you get there, there will more than likely be a line up. WAIT. It's worth it!
We had 2 orders of the Eggs Benny and 1 order of chicken and waffles. All 3 were devoured! They put their bennys on corn bread...CORN BREAD peeps! Why has no one else ever done this?! Genius. Sheer genius I tell ya! Oh and Chicken & Waffles you ask? I had my doubts friends. I really did. But umm I ate my words, which was full of chicken and waffley goodness. Mmm Mmm Mmmmmmm!

Did you have any good eats this lovely weekend? I wanna know where!

XOXO
