Fitness Friday!





Who is feeling motivated this fine day? Ok seriously I'm not, but I'm trying! It is WAY to early for my body to function {yes I'm a wuss} & yesterday I forgot I had zumba so I did my full morning work out, failed to eat much all day and then realized I had zumba, and I went. I for reals felt like a bag of trash afterwards. FAIL. ANYWAYS, still feeling motivated over here, or pretending! 

So this week we are talking snacks! Healthy snacking is KEY I tell ya! If you have healthy yummy snacks available to you it will make it SO much easier to not even look at that chocolate bar sitting on the counter. Ok so you might give it a sideways glance BUT that will be all! Because you will WANT these healthy snacks! Mmmm these are MY personal favorite things to snack on: 

PS.- Always make sure to portion out your snacks. It is easy to go a little over board if you just have the entire bag or container sitting in front of you! Especially if you are snacking while distracted by something else you are concentrating on! ALWAYS portion it out on to a plate or bowl!

  • FROZEN GRAPES- these little suckers all frozen up and tasty are my all time favorite! They are cool and crunchy and sweet! now tell me one thing wrong with that? you can't! They will give you a TON of satisfaction to eat! PROMISE!
  • Apples with Natural Peanut Butter OR Almond Butter- it's gotta be the natural stuff ok? It is straight up one ingredient {ground peanuts or almonds} and THAT's it! Have you read the label to that other peanut butter...it should scare you pantsless!
  • Greek Yogurt + Fruit + Granola= heaven on earth. I kid you not! And I know I sing praises to Greek yogurt an awful lot over here, but seriously that stuff is good and SO good for you!
  • Dried Fruit- just a heads up.. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT eat a ton of dried fruit while drinking a TON of water. I have never in my life had that bad of a stomach ache. Apparently it is a bad mix. When you think about it...it makes sense. 
  • Unsalted or LIGHTLY salted nuts. I prefer unsalted. But I know a lot of people can't handle that! Anywho, almonds peanuts cashew, whatever your favorite might be! But just don't go crazy on them. Portion PORtion PORTION!
  • Popcorn- this is a million times better than chips peeps! And it is still salty and crunchy. Just PLEASE I am begging you, do not add butter a pound of butter to it! Try adding some spices to it. OR I bought this lime and salt popcorn. TO DIE FOR!
  • Fruit salad. There is just something about a bunch of fruits having a party in a bowl that makes my mouth water. Add a little yogurt and I might pass out!
  • veggies & multigrain wheat thins with hummus. Ok so I love love hummus and it is really good for you! I recommend the spinach and artichoke one from Costco. OR try making your own!
  • frozen yogurt bites. these are so so good. right up there with the frozen grapes! just take your greek yogurt {whatever flavor you want} put it in a ziploc bag and cut the tip off. Squeeze the yogurt into little circles on a cookie sheet with wax paper. then put in the freezer! These are so easy and so yummy!!

  1. Yes, I have been up and down with my weight since I hit 50 and I agree nothing (except breakfast) is more important than snacks:) I have never tried the frozen grapes and the frozen yogurt. I love greek yogurt so I need to try those. Just hopping over from the May Day Blog Hop and am now following you.   2. love this post! I was not feeling motivated at all when I went and did PT with my husband this morning, but I did it ...but I did a crappy job lol but yay for getting off my butt at all but I still felt guilty so tomorrow I'm doing the run again along with the normal tuesday PT :)
