Home Away From Home

as told by bella

Hi, Im Bella.
I'm guest posting here to tell you about my home away from home!
It's one of the best places in the world. I haven't been elsewhere very much, but you know what? I don't even want to. This place is the best. Just look at those lovely pictures of myself! I nap..EVERYWHERE, I get A LOT of belly rubs (pretty much whenever I flop myself down on my back and give that look i eeeevery time!), I run and run outside! It's the best when there is snow! Even though they make me wear these silly pink things on my feet when I go out! I don't care...half the time I manage to kick them off while I bound thru that most perfect fluffly white stuff out there!

I even get homemade treats. Pah! I've got them all wrapped around my fluffly little paw! It's the life I tell ya!! All you pups out is the recipe! Now go give that know the one...and I'm sure you'll get to taste this wonderfulness all for yourself!

You need:

1 Cup flour
1/4 Cup oats
1/4 cup shredded coconut
1Tbsp baking soda
1/2 cup creamy organic peanut butter
1/2 Cup milk
1Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp finely chopped apple

How to:

Preheat oven to 350degrees F
Combine all dry ingredients in medium bowl
Add wet ingredients and mix until all combined
knead into a ball and then roll out on parchment paper about 1/2 inch thick
cut out with bone cookie cutters OR make whatever design you like :)
Bake until golden brown. about 20-25 mins
Make sure to store in an air tight container!
& don't forget to give freely!

Until next time!

Much Love,

Baby Its Cold Outside

What does -37 degress Cwith wind chill look like? Lots and lots of snow, lots and lots of frost, and cozy cozy boots!
What does one do when it is -37 degrees Cwith wind chill out? Well go tanning of course!!...oh you thought my golden skin was blessed to me at birth?...false...sadly...false..
Anyways 10 minutes of denial is completely worth venturing out into the cold...I really am trying to embrace it. It's getting more and more difficult!

Happy Winter to You All!!

Winter You Have Arrived

A little later than usual but still,  do you wanna know what its like to have an amazing dream about being back in Hawaii and then waking up to something that looks a lil somethin' like the picture above? Hmm how should I compare this really! It's like slipping on some ice and getting the wind knocked out of you. It's like being suuuuper hungry after a long day and day dreaming about the yummy left overs in the fridge, only to come home and realize someone else has already eaten them. It's like getting your hair dyed and it turning green. It's like noticing a yucky green spot of mold on your bread after you've already eaten half the sandwich. It's like....ok ok you get it? It's just really nothing spectacular that is FOR SURE!

To maybe make my point a little more clear.....this is what I was doing last winter...

oh it hurts.....

Well I tried to find a bunch of stuff to write a whole post dumping on winter but I ended up finding some really beautiful pictures and some funny stuff too..

I mean here in Canada it is more like a 5 plus month break but whatever I am going to embrace this little fact (eww I know) Also I am really going to do my best to embrace this whole winter thing...snow...cold...and all! And going back to the dreaded place called work ( I know I am pretty sure I said that I would never step foot there again but...what can I there and everywhere!) and I will earn enough money to go to Hawaii again and just keep earning money to be able to go to Hawaii all my little heart desires! Maybe even possibly move back? We will see how that goes over! :) In the mean time...maybe winter won't be so bad...

Out With the Old, In With the New!

cute puppy, yummy cheesecake,
naps before the ball drops, some bubbly of course!

There's just something about the start of something new! Something invigorating about a new year...remembering the good and leaving behind the bad! Being able to set new goals and dream new dreams! It's brilliant really!

What Would You Do If
You KNEW You Could Not Fail?

I know that New Years is sometimes known for setting goals and dreaming dreams that seem to get lost along the way, when day to day life and what is "supposed to be" takes over. But I think it's important to set the goals and dream the dreams and to do whatever it takes to make them reality, because obviously those are the things you know you need in order to feel more fulfilled and happy!

2012 To Do List
Be Strongcontinue to work out 6 days a week. This has more to do with how this makes me feel than how it makes me look! I love knowing that I am doing something good for my body, inside and out.
Capture BeautyI am determined to find something beautiful in every day! And when its something I don't want to forget I'm going to take a picture of it! This will also help me to progress in my love for photography!

Be CreativeThis is what makes me the happiest and unfortunately tends to get put on the back burner when there are more pressing things to accomplish or you know, the day to days! But I am going to focus on practicing the guitar and learning to sew!

EMBRACE ChallengesThey are inevitable along the way! So may as well just charge them head first, embrace them, and let them change me for the better! That's what they are there for anyways right?!

Give FreelyI want to help where I can. Volunteer whenever I am able. And to help unconditionally when asked. Or to help when I see someone in need. There really is something amazing that happens when you give of yourself and sacrifice your time to help others.

Be AcceptingSometimes it's hard not to dwell in the past. Wonder how to fix things we can't. I am determined to be accepting of things that have happened, realize they happened not to hold me back but to propel me forward, and let them do just that! I will be accepting of where I am and what I am doing and what makes me happy! I will be accepting of my future and the good things to come and know that this is my path! I will love it! I will be me and I will love me!

Be Productive I will work my B-U-T-T off so that I can make enough money for the trip to PERU next year with my Dad so we can do the service project we have been waiting so long to accomplish!

Growin all ways. Spiritually. Educationally. Personally. In relationships. Creatively.

Raise a puppyThis is really so that Bella can have a friend!...ok ok that and I just really need to finally do this one for myself! and a little fur ball that needs a good home :)

Bring it on 20-12! I'm ready for you!
